River Run #395, Oil on Panel, 12" x 12", 2009
My daughter Louise LeBourgeois is an artist. Her painting (River Run) suggests the natural forces that impelled the lives of each woman in the book I am writing. Louise is the great-great-great-great-grandaughter of Charlotte Blow, the first of the four women.
This is an evocative painting - lonely, full of stillness and movement, the deep river next to the grasses, with no graduation, has the truth of a troubling dream.
